Got a very different promo CD today, I think it must be an internal promo for Astrawerks as it’s called ‘Chris & Keith’s Ultimate Playlist’ and features tracks from Brain Thrust Mastery and the band’s cover of Hoppipolla! It came with front and back artwork featuring the guys and their comments on the tracks! I’ve added a new section to the tabs at the top called ‘Top Rarities’, this is just a little fun section where i’ve posted what I feel is the top ten of We Are Scientists collectibles. Let me know if you feel differently, or if you have any more information about the items (prices, rarity etc).
Also i’ve added some more photos to the pre-release sections for With Love And Squalor and Brain Thrust Mastery of some of the rarer items, so it’s worth checking those out!
Well I Just bought a new promo I haven’t seen before, so I’m excited about receiving that, especially after my last post of a lack of new promos, lol! Also picked up a cheap 2nd copy of the named and numbered Brain Thrust Mastery, I don’t normally buy duplicates, only of rarer items (EPs, rare promos etc) if I see them cheaply but as each of these is slightly different it’s almost a different item anyway!
Still really looking for the Safety, Fun and Learning and Bitchin EP if anyone has them to sell, I’ll give you a good price!

Well, I thought i’d post an update despite a major slow down WAS wise.. Nothing interesting has come up for sale and with no more UK singles it looks like the only big thing to come for a while could be promos for the Lethal Enforcer release in the USA (I’m not sure if a physical single is being released, or the track will just be ‘on-air’, hopefully the first!)
I’ve been to busy with my new university course to do any updates and still am but am hoping too sometime soon.
I did pick up a 2nd copy of the Japan After Hours Promo CDR from ebay so I have both that i’ve seen for sale but nothing else!
Well here goes nothing, having the afternoon off today I decided to take some photos of my whole We Are Scientists collection. while I do have quite a lot it is by no means close to everything. mainly I’m missing Safety, Fun and Learning, Bitchin and the very elusive Safety, Fun and Learning sampler (which I realistically don’t think I’ll ever be lucky enough to own). There are a few small promos I’m missing and a couple of little things in the post to come but as I’m not actually waiting for anything rare I figured now was as good a time as any for photos..
The first two photos show the main shelf of my collection (the shelf above is We are Scientists/Muse/The Ting Tings), the third photo shows all the CDs/vinyls and part of the extras like carriers and stickers and postcards to the side. And the fourth photo shows some of the rare items I own, there are a few others which would probably fit into it as well, such as the 3 track promo versions of the Great Escape and Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt which i’ve yet to see elsewhere.
Also every item shown is unique in the photo, no two items are duplicates (other than the two copies of the Wolf’s Hour) everything either has a different track listing or a distinguishing feature.
If you want any more information or photos of something leave a comment and let me know and i’ll do my best to help. The photos could be slightly better, especially of the whole shot but I don’t have the floor space..

Got the rare item i’ve been waiting for today, a promo CD-R for With Love and Squalor but it’s actually one of the discs used during the recording and mastering process. Slightly different track order, and most of the tracks are a few seconds longer but from a quick lesson it’s just blank space for editing purposes. But really cool as there would probably be very few of these produced! Just waiting for a few things and then photos!
Got myself another promo for With Love and Squalor in the post today. I now have 3 promos for WLaS which are in jewel cases and each is slightly different. The newest has a different cop control information box on the back, a slightly different disc and different copy information on the front as well as a sticker on the back. I’ll be referring to this as the ‘Australian Promo’ purely as thats where I bought it from so presumably it originated from somewhere in Australia? The other two are being called the ‘Swedish Promo’ and the ‘Thailand Promo’ for the same reasons. I’d love to know more about these but sadly it doesn’t seem possible!
Anyway, just waiting for a few things now so hopefully can get photos up sometime next week once everything arrives!
There have been a fair few rarer items come up lately which is always good news! But lots have been posted to my old house so I finally received those today! So I finally got my hands on the promo for Brain Thrust Mastery which is numbered and has the recipients name printed on the cover and disc so very nice as everyone is unique! (I got number 0059!) Also I have another Brain Thrust Mastery promo, in a card sleeve with the artwork but rare as this is the first copy i’ve seen!
Also I bought a Great Escape single a few weeks ago which has 3 tracks and seems to be a promo copy, I stumbled across a Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt which had the same copy protected sticker on the cover so I brought it just in case and it too turned out to be a promo copy with 3 tracks! So it really does pay to keep your eyes open!
I now have two copies of the wolfs hour as well now, a few have appeared on ebay lately and for the bargain price of £5 I couldn’t resist! And I got a promotional carrier bag for the With Love and Squalor release!
And I found a different version of the Great Escape promo single in the paper sleeve! Judging by the release date on it I think it was for the planned re-release! It’s the radio edit though so different than the previous!
And finally.. I’m really really excited as I have an item I’ve never ever ever seen before which is something else entirely! So i’m just praying it gets here ok in the post as it may even be one of a kind! 
And I have a few more things on the way!
So it’s been a very good month for my collection! And once I have everything i’m waiting for in the post, photos are coming!
Finally, I wonder if the guys are going to release another CD single or not.. I hope so!
Well I’ve got a lot of stuff recently but not much to show for it yet..
As I’m only just moved a lot of things i’ve bought have been posted to my old house but they should be up with me soon and then I can give a proper update! But to give you a rough idea, I have a promo of Brain Thrust Mastery i’ve never seen before and I finally got my hands on one of the named and numbered versions! I have a 3rd version of the original Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt Single, like the one I found for Great Escape a while back with 3 tracks, and I’m pretty sure it’s a promo! I have a 2nd copy of the Wolf’s Hour on it’s way, a promo carrier bag, postcards and stickers, a few small promo CDs and a couple other cool things! So once i’ve got those I’ll have a better post and hopefully stuff to update the discography with!
Also i’ll post a photo of my collection to give you an idea of what it’s like!
And i’m really trying to get Bitchin and Safety, Fun and Learning (In That Order) so if anyone wants to sell them i’m offering $100 and £150 respectively..

Well just to say I’m up in Cardiff now and got the internet sorted just in time it seems as I just found a very rare promo cd of the band for a cheap buy it now on ebay so im extra happy!
Glad to see lots of people have been using the discography while i’ve been away and as I said before, don’t forget to contact me if you have any ideas/suggestions/requests!
I really want to do some updates but I’m a bit busy at the moment until I settle in but when I get a couple of Brain Thrust Mastery Promos in the post I’ll definitely update that section!
